This season, the defenseman has been the captain of the Generals and while he hasn't had the same offensive production as last season, he has remained one of the best d-men in Junior hockey.
With five goals and 25 points in 61 games, Danford has shown some solid development and the Leafs cannot wait to have him in their organization.

Having said that, the OHL season is beginning to wind down and that means awards season is officially upon us.
As it turns out, Ben Danford was one of the players to receive an award, which is truly amazing news for the 19-year-old out of Belleville, Ontario.
It was revealed on social media last night that the defenseman had been awarded the Bobby Orr Defenseman of the Year award. Being compared to Orr in any capacity is truly amazing and we're sure the kid will remember this for years to come.
Making the Toronto Maple Leafs roster is going to be Danford's next big goal, especially with the Leafs adding some young guys into the mix.
General Manager Brad Treliving has stocked up on young talent which is great when you consider how the team already has a core-four. The future is bright in the Six.
