Toronto Maple Leafs Prospect Tears Up the WHL With 22 Points in 15 Games

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Miroslav Holinka may have been a fifth-round pick, but that is not stopping him from showcasing true NHL potential.
During the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs took Czech forward Miroslav Holinka in the fifth round. When you take a player this late in the draft, you don't really expect much from them.
However, Holinka has been a revelation in the WHL as he enters his second season with the Edmonton Oil Kings. After scoring 45 points in 47 games last season, he has come through with a major improvement in this latest campaign.
In fact, his numbers are so good that the Toronto Maple Leafs might just have to consider the possibility of this kid playing on the roster in a year or two from now.

As you can see below, the kid is talented and can find his teammates on the ice, while also finding the back of the net.
At the time of the video below, Holinka had 19 points in just 14 games. However, he had three points in his most recent outing, which brought his total to 22 points in 15 games.
These are big-time numbers, and it really does feel as though the kid is destined to continue improving as the season goes on.
Holinka represented his country at the World Juniors last season, and we imagine he will get that opportunity again this year.
He was one of the many leaders on that Czech team, but going into this year's tournament, he is very clearly going to be a player to watch.
On top of all of this, he plays the center position, which is a huge bonus for the Maple Leafs, who are always looking for some extra bodies to play down the middle.
The rest of the season is going to be fun to watch, and we are rooting for Holinka's success.
