Team USA is looking to finalize its team for the Olympics, and while Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies were invited, other Toronto Maple Leafs stars were snubbed.

Both players deserved to be invited, as they had phenomenal seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and continue to up their game.
However, there is no telling whether or not Knies will officially make the roster. As for Matthews, he will be the captain of the team.
Below, you can see the 44 players who were invited, and all of them are some of the best that the NHL has to offer.
If one thing is for certain here, it is that Team USA is going to be a favorite to win the Gold Medal. Only time will tell whether or not they can surpass Team Canada.
That said, there are two Toronto Maple Leafs players who were seemingly snubbed, and there are a lot of fans who are disappointed with how things have panned out.
For instance, Jake McCabe and Anthony Stolarz were not invited. This is especially bizarre when you think about how Joey Daccord was one of the goalies.
McCabe goes a bit under the radar, but he is easily one of the most important defensemen on the Maple Leafs and deserves a shot.
In many ways, he is being treated how Canada treats Chris Tanev, a phenomenal defenseman who should be getting more opportunities.
Whatever the case may be, Leafs fans ride for their players, and they want to see some kind of justice for Stolarz and McCabe.
