During the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames game, there was a medical emergency that led to a very scary situation involving the Oilers training staff.
A terrible situation transpired on Saturday night as the Edmonton Oilers took on the Calgary Flames at Rogers Place for an edition of the Battle of Alberta.
In the end, it was the Oilers who came out victorious in overtime, however, that was not the biggest story from the game.

They were then taken to hospital and the hockey world has anxiously awaited an update. Today, the Oilers put out a statement, thanking the medical staff for their quick thinking.
During last night's Battle of Alberta game at Rogers Place, a fan experienced a medical emergency and was attended to by emergency personnel, OEGSE arena and team staff, and fans. The game was paused to allow the time and space needed to attend to the fan and prepare them for transport to hospital. The Edmonton Oilers and OEGSE are grateful to the emergency services personnel, our OEGSE staff, and the fans who assisted in attending to this emergency. Our thoughts and prayers are with the fan, their family and loved ones, and we wish them a speedy recovery.
Based on the last part of the statement, it makes it seem as though the fan is going to be okay, although it is still ambiguous.
Clearly, the team wants to respect the fans' privacy, which is something that we must respect as well.
We wish this fan a speedy recovery and we hope their family is doing okay after such a traumatic experience.
We also commend the Edmonton Oilers staff for their quick thinking during all of this.
