Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe has been out dealing with a leg injury and according to Craig Berube, this isn't much to say right now.
Jake McCabe has been out with an injury for a couple of weeks now and Toronto Maple Leafs fans are growing more and more concerned as the playoffs begin this weekend.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson is also out of the lineup and there is no doubt that he is just as important to the health of this team going into the postseason.
Craig Berube on Jake McCabe
With the concerns growing louder, head coach Craig Berube was asked after practice whether or not he was worried about Jake McCabe.
This led to a bit of an ambiguous answer as Berube noted there is always concern but as it stands, the team does not know whether or not he will be ready for the playoffs.
«There's always a concern, right? It's a little ways away yet for me to make those kind of decisions.»
Quite frankly, this seems like a very likely scenario that is playing out here. Berube is probably just hiding his cards and not getting too optimistic.
Either way, the Sabres and the Detroit Red Wings are up next which means the team can afford to sit some guys.
One point tonight and the Maple Leafs guarantee themselves the Atlantic Division. That would be a huge win and there is no doubt that the fans want to see it.
