Craig Berube Responds After William Nylander Sends a Strong Message to his Head Coach

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube challenged William Nylander just a few days ago, and now, it seems like the challenge is being met beautifully.
Just a few days ago, Craig Berube issued a challenge to William Nylander after the forward put up two stinker performances against the Detroit Red Wings.
The forward was taking the game lightly and clearly wasn't playing with any real passion. This began to annoy Berube, and it was also frustrating to fans.
However, on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators, William Nylander redeemed himself with a goal and two assists.

It was the type of performance that you love to see from your superstars, and it really does feel like this is going to usher in a new phase of the season.
But just as much as Berube was quick to challenge the winger, he was also very quick to give praise where it was due.
Willie did what he does. He had the puck. He's making good decisions, driving it deep, and doing what he does in the offensive zone. I thought they were responsible defensively. I was happy with the line. I thought they were very impactful.
William Nylander, John Tavares, and Matias Maccelli make a pretty good line combination, and we can only hope that Berube keeps this line the same going forward.
Whenever the team wins, Berube finds himself reluctant to make changes, and we could end up seeing that come to fruition all over again.
Whatever the case may be, the Maple Leafs are in a prime position to start playing their brand of hockey and winning games again.
The win against Nashville is something to build on, and we hope the Maple Leafs are able to keep the pressure up, going forward.
