Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz was sensational against the Los Angeles and now, Craig Berube's choice is clearer than ever before.
Anthony Stolarz and
Joseph Woll have been sharing the net this season, however, there have been all sorts of questions about who the starter should be.
Anthony Stolarz play phenomenal game against Los Angeles Kings
The goaltender faced 37 shots, making 36 saves. The Leafs won the game by a score of 3-1 and had it not been been for Stolarz, the team would not have won.
Tonight, the Leafs play the Anaheim Ducks, and while it is rare for goalies to play back-to-back games, there are some analysts who are calling for Stollie to get the start once again.
Although this is definitely unconventional, it would be deserved for the goaltender to get this kind of honor. After all, he played extremely well and the Leafs need to win as many games as possible to capture the Atlantic Division.
Quite frankly, this performance is likely going to force Craig Berube and the Maple Leafs to use Stolarz in the playoffs.
If the goaltender can keep up this play for the rest of the NHL season, then that decision is going to be solidified.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are a team that needs good goaltending to win the Stanley Cup and it will be fascinating to see how these final weeks play out.
As for the game against the Ducks tonight, we still do not know who is going to be the starting goalie. Berube must be thinking about a lot right now.
