Four Canadian Teams Are Preparing Offers for Mitch Marner in Free Agency

Mitch Marner will be taking meetings with various different teams as of July 1st, including the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although in the eyes of many, the kid is as good as gone.

There are numerous teams that want to kick tires on Marner, and if we had to guess, about half the league is going to at least make an offer, even if it isn't a competitive one.

At the end of the day, the forward's value has never been higher. 102 points do not grow on trees, and the superstar winger is about to command some heavy value come July 1st. Some even believe he could fetch over $14 million per season.

That said, David Pagnotta was recently on 'Leafs Morning Take,' where he offered some surprising analysis in regards to what is next for the Leafs winger.

Essentially, there are three Canadian teams who would be interested in at least poking around and sending an offer through. Those teams are the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, and Calgary Flames. Of course, the Leafs make it four.

Overall, the Marner situation has become quite tiresome for fans. Some are just simply fed up with hearing about it. They just want him gone.

That said, if Marner does not get a suitable offer from another franchise, then he may just find himself back in a Leafs uniform. Unfortunately, we think the relationship might be too fractured for that to ever happen.

The best course of action here might just be for both sides to mutually part ways, and do so in a way that is respectful and actually productive.

It will not be an easy separation, but it is one that will likely work out for all sides involved, once everything is said and done.
