The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to go on an epic cup run this season and thanks to the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings, they just might do it.
With the NHL playoffs on the horizon, the
Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to win the Stanley Cup. Of course, this is very hard to do and fans are accustomed to failure.
However, under Craig Berube, this team is playing with a more defensive mind which should serve the team well as the playoffs are all about keeping pucks out of the net.
Tonight, the Leafs could end up securing the Atlantic Division and fans are very much interested in seeing that happen.
Toronto Maple Leafs could win the Stanley Cup
However, there is something else going on right now that could signal some good news for the Leafs as they try to win their first Stanley Cup since 1967.
The Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings have both been eliminated from playoff contention. The last time both teams didn't make the playoffs was back, ironically enough, back in 1967.
With that in mind, there is no doubt that the Leafs are being blessed with some coincidences that could lead to their first Stanley Cup in almost 60 years.
At this stage, Leafs fans are looking for any reason to be optimistic about this team. Over the years, there hasn't been much to cheer about.
But these days, the team is looking good and there is a real chance that they are able to show the world their strength and go on a run for the ages.
Winning the Atlantic Division would certainly help them out tremendously down the stretch here and the fans would love to see that happen.
However, they must win against the Carolina Hurricanes who are a more than capable opponent.
