Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll had himself a truly awful outing against the Las Vegas Golden Knights and many of his teammates spoke after the game.
Joseph Woll allowed three goals on just seven shots last night in what was easily his worst game of the entire season thus far.
After the game, Mitch Marner was asked about Woll being chased, as well as the team's performance in general.
While Marner refused to place any blame on his goaltender, he did note that last night's loss to the Golden Knights was a true "wake up call" in every sense of the word.
In fact, the captains spoke out in the locker room after the game, urging the team to come with more venom next time around.
John Tavares was one of the players who echoed those sentiments, revealing the team can't look for reasons. They just need to fight.
"There's no excuses. We have to be a lot better than we were."
Joseph Woll's goal-against average has sunk to 2.78 with this performance and he also has a save percentage of .905 which is dangerously close to being in the .800s.
With the playoffs just a few weeks away at this point, things are not looking great for Woll's chances of being the eventual starter.
Anthony Stolarz is going to need to be ready here, otherwise, things could get very scary for the Leafs.
