Maple Leafs Head Coach Craig Berube Rips the NHL to Shreds Amid Max Domi Controversy

Max Domi was fined $5000 this morning after a hit from behind on Aleksander Barkov that occurred at the end of Game 4 on Sunday night.

Overall, it was a bad hit but it wasn't as egregious as some of the things the Florida Panthers have done in this series on numerous occasions.

For instance, earlier in the game, Dmitry Kulikov almost took Mitch Marner's head off with a flying elbow that was extremely dangerous.

Prior to Domi's fine, there was all sorts of discourse about the hit and whether or not it warranted any sort of punishment. This is when head coach Craig Berube weighed in on things.

As you can imagine, he defended his player. In fact, he made it quite clear that in his opinion, what Kulikov did was egregious and much worse.

This is a sentiment that a lot of Toronto Maple Leafs fans are going to agree with, however, the team has much bigger things to think about right now.

After losing Game 4, the series is now tied and the Florida Panthers now officially look like the better team. That means the Leafs stars need to elevate and prove they can take over the series.

Auston Matthews, in particular, has not been great and the team needs to see a lot more from him, otherwise, this thing is over.

Meanwhile, the Panthers will continue to hit hard and attempt to be a thorn in the side for this struggling Leafs squad.
