Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing against the Philadelphia Flyers, and in order to win, they have to make the right starting goalie decision.
Last season, one of the biggest strengths for the Toronto Maple Leafs was their goaltending, as
Anthony Stolarz and
Joseph Woll were studs.
Primeau started the Leafs' last game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and it was an absolute disaster as he allowed six goals on 25 shots.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Philadelphia Flyers, and as you can imagine, Craig Berube is going back to normalcy.
According to reports, Stolarz is going to be the starting goalie tonight. This is a huge deal for the Maple Leafs as it means they have a better chance of winning.
While he does have a save percentage of .886, this is an opportunity for him to improve and add another win to his totals.
Thankfully, Joseph Woll is ramping up his ice time so that he can eventually get himself back into the lineup in a few weeks from now.
While Woll is probably going to have to go to the AHL for conditioning, he should be back with the Maple Leafs soon enough.
As for
Cayden Primeau, this means he will either be sent back down to the AHL or claimed off waivers by another franchise.
Only time will tell whether or not Stolarz can get the win tonight and put the Leafs back into the win column.
