Toronto Maple Leafs fans have a lot of head coaches that they don't particularly love, but Mike Babcock remains someone who is hated by the fanbase.
Mike Babcock is a head coach who was supposed to take the Toronto Maple Leafs to new heights. Instead, he left a trail of controversy behind him.
After a few seasons as head coach, Babcock was never able to find playoff success with the Leafs. Furthermore, his actions towards Nazem Kadri and Mitch Marner had many players feeling slighted.
Eventually, Babcock became a disgraced head coach who had to go down to U Sports to rebuild his reputation. Years later, he was hired by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
As many of you know by now, this never worked out. Babcock was caught asking players to see their photos on their phones, and he was then fired.
Now, Babcock is getting humiliated further, as Toronto Maple Leafs fans just voted on a poll that directly takes aim at the coach's tenure in Toronto.

Essentially, Babcock was voted as the worst head coach in the entire history of the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is pretty abysmal.
In fact, Ron Wilson was right behind Babcock, but Babcock still took the cake. It just goes to show how hated the man is these days.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you probably don't have many good thoughts about Babcock, or Wilson, for that matter.
Ultimately, Babcock will likely never coach in the NHL again, and that is absolutely for the best given everything we know now.
As for current head coach Craig Berube, there is no denying that he is well-liked by the fanbase, and we doubt he will be taking a Babcock-sized heel turn anytime soon.
