Morgan Rielly & John Tavares Disrespected by the Toronto Maple Leafs Organization

In an act of surprising disrespect, the Toronto Maple Leafs left out John Tavares and Morgan Rielly from a key part of their marketing at Scotiabank Arena.
Morgan Rielly had himself a difficult season with the
Toronto Maple Leafs in 2024-25, although he was able to get himself back on track once the playoffs came around.
Both of these players are part of the team's leadership group and will be wearing the "A" on their jerseys this season. That is why it was so shocking to see the disrespect that was bestowed upon them this weekend.
Where are John Tavares and Morgan Rielly?
Outside of the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the team put up brand new signage. Of course, with
Mitch Marner gone, the sign needed an update.
While the Maple Leafs made sure to include new players like
Dakota Joshua, they neglected key members of their leadership core.
Morgan Rielly and John Tavares are nowhere to be found on the sign. Given everything they have done for the organization, this feels like a major oversight, and a blatant act of disrespect.
If you are a fan coming to a game, you should be greeted by the faces of Rielly and Tavares. Even if they are older, they are still very important.
Not to mention, they are alternate captains. That means they should be on the poster regardless. As you can imagine, fans are very confused.
While we don't have an explanation for this decision, we're sure Tavares and Rielly will use this as some extra motivation throughout the season.
In the meantime, we hope the team takes this to heart and perhaps updates the graphic to include two cornerstones of the franchise.
