Throughout the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals between the
Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers, there have been a lot of questionable hits.
Mitch Marner almost taken out by Dmitry Kulikov
Following the game, there was a large contingency of Toronto Maple Leafs fans who were hopeful that Kulikov would face some sort of punishment for his hit.
Of course, those Leafs fans are going to be sorely disappointed. The NHL let the deadline for punishment go by without a single word uttered.
This means that Kulikov will be playing in Game 5. Once again, it is the NHL punishing the Leafs, while ignoring everyone else's misdeeds.
Game 5 is set to go down on Wednesday and with the series tied, fans are going to be eager to see a big performance from the Maple Leafs' biggest stars.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs have what it takes to get their momentum back and end this series once and for all.
If they lose this series, then there are going to be some difficult conversations had in the offseason.
However, a win would justify keeping this team together for at least another season. For now, it does appear as though they would be facing
the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals, which is a very winnable series.
