Scott Laughton has struggled as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs and tonight against the Nashville Predators, he thought he had his first goal with the team.
When the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired
Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers, the intention was clear especially with the playoffs on the horizon.
The team wanted him to be their third-line center who could inject some offense while also adding some grit and grind on defense.
Scott Laughton has his goal taken away
This has been very disappointing to see especially when you consider how the Maple Leafs even had to give up a first-round pick just to acquire the former Flyer.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are playing the Nashville Predators and while up 2-0 in the first period, it seemed as though Laughton had finally gotten his first marker as a Leaf.
However, the goal was promptly taken back as it was determined that Laughton had a high stick during the play.
Since this play, the Toronto Maple Leafs have had some awful luck as they are now losing by a score of 3-2 despite having the two-goal lead after the first period.
This is just not a good look for anyone right now and when it comes to Laughton, the team is going to need some production sooner rather than later.
Whether or not the team can battle back and win this game still remains to be seen, although the fans would like to see it happen sooner rather than later.
