Sportsnet Ripped Apart by Toronto Maple Leafs Fans for Making a Baffling & Disrespectful Decision
Rogers, and by extension Sportsnet, have been known for cost-cutting measures, and now, Toronto Maple Leafs legends Joe Bown and Jim Ralph are affected.
We say that because in round one against the Ottawa Senators, they were not allowed to travel for Games 3, 4, and 6. Instead, they called the game from a studio in Toronto.

According to reporter Nick Alberga, the same is going to happen in Games 3 and 4 against the Florida Panthers. Bowen and Ralps will call the games in Toronto.
Joe Bowen & Jim Ralph will be calling Game 3 & 4 from a studio in Toronto.
Wild stuff.
This led to direct criticism about the Bowen situation and how Sportsnet has handled all of it pretty poorly for the most part.
"The multi-billion-dollar communications behemoths could not scrape up enough petty cash for Bowen and Ralph to travel all the way to Ottawa. So, the veteran broadcast duo will again be forced to call Games 3 and 4 off a TV screen at the Sportsnet studio. What a complete travesty. There is cheap then there is something like this, which doesn't warrant an adjective."
Ultimately, the media industry is going through a ton of cost-cutting measures as of late and that is not going to stop anytime soon.
It is just unfortunate that two of the victims of this are some of the team's most legendary figures.
