While the Toronto Maple Leafs have played relatively well this season, there are some players on the team who simply have not been able to carry their own weight.
Unfortunately, one of those players has been
Pontus Holmberg, a young 26-year-old forward who had showcased a ton of promise just a few years ago.
This season,
he has become more of a fringe player who has been hit with his fair share of healthy scratches. He only has six goals and 15 points, while being placed up and down the lineup.

Subsequently, he got demoted to the third line and at practice on Monday, he was demoted to the fourth line again.
Now, according to David Alter of The Hockey News, Holmberg is out of the lineup entirely, while
David Kampf is drawing in.

Anthony Stolarz is the projected starter tonight.
This is not a good look for Holmberg and you can't help but feel like the Leafs may have no choice but to shop him around in the offseason.
The Leafs are a team that needs a lot of help throughout the playoffs, and players like Holmberg are going to have to up their game or risk losing their spot completely.
If not, the team is going to have to completely rely on the top six which hasn't been an amazing strategy over the years.
