Toronto Maple Leafs Caught Napping as Free Agent Target Signs Elsewhere

The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't done much over the past month or so, and that was evident on Wednesday as a top free agent target signed with the Colorado Avalanche.
These last few weeks have been fairly frustrating for
Toronto Maple Leafs fans, as the team has not made a single big move or small move.
Overall, general manager Brad Treliving is being conservative right now, and the same thing can be said for a lot of the GMs around the NHL.
Victor Olofsson signs with the Colorado Avalanche
For instance, Victor Olofsson, who played for the Las Vegas Golden Knights last season, is now set to sign with the Colorado Avalanche, according to Puck Pedia.
Olofsson is a 20-goal scorer who has been known to contribute half a point per game throughout the course of his career. He is someone the Leafs were targeting for their bottom-six.
Instead, Olofsson slipped away, and now, he will play for a team that will be competing for a Stanley Cup next year.
In 56 games last season, Olofsson had 29 points. Had he played a full season, he would have had a much better campaign.
That said, the Leafs fanbase is begging for a move to be made sooner rather than later. If nothing gets done, this team might not be competitive.
As it stands, the Maple Leafs have a playoff team. But they won't make it far with what they have, unless some significant improvements are made.
Treliving is under a lot of pressure right now, and we can only imagine how the fans will react if no more moves are made prior to the start of the season.
