Easton Cowan's Latest Ranking Could Lead to a Toronto Maple Leafs Roster Spot

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan is looking to make the team's roster, and going into the season, there is a ton of fanfare surrounding the young prospect.
Easton Cowan is a huge question mark going into next season, as no one knows whether or not he is going to make the Maple Leafs, or be relegated to the Toronto Marlies.
Overall, Cowan is a player with a ton of potential, especially after the year he just had with the London Knights.
Having said that, there is no telling whether or not he will be the NHL talent that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been looking for.
Instead, the team must be patient with his development, and if it takes him time to settle into the NHL game, then so be it.
Easton Cowan ranked among OHL prospects
Recently, reporter Brock Otten delivered a piece on the Top 25 prospects associated with the OHL. Unsurprisingly, Cowan was on the list.
Cowan was in the 10th spot on the list, with Otten noting that Cowan has some bad habits that he is going to have to get out of his game.
Per Brock Otten:
I'll admit that some bad habits crept into his game this year and he's going to have to learn to simplify things to find success at the NHL level. However, he has all the tools to be a quality middle six fixture for Toronto for the next decade; speed, tenacity, scoring ability. I think he'll need time at the AHL level this year, even if it's a partial season.
Ultimately, this ranking does bode well for Cowan and the Maple Leafs, as it shows that the Leafs really do have an elite talent on their hands.
Now, the franchise must make sure it does everything it can to ensure Cowan is a success in the show.
