Toronto Maple Leafs Reportedly Reached The Next Step with Jonathan Toews

Jonathan Toews is looking to make a major NHL comeback, and fans are very excited to see where he is going to go next.

There are plenty of teams out there who would love to sign him, and it has been theorized that one of those teams is none other than the Toronto Maple Leafs.

A new report from Nick Alberga seems to confirm these suspicions regarding the Leafs and Jonathan Toews.

As he revealed on Wednesday night, several teams have reached out to Toews, and the Maple Leafs are one of them. Of course, he can only sign as of July 1st.

At this time, there is very little information concerning what kind of contract he is seeking and whether or not he will actually play for the Leafs next season.

There will be lots of competition for the veteran forward, and the Winnipeg Jets seem to be at the top of his list, given the fact that this is his hometown team.

Overall, the free agency period is going to be filled with drama. There are a million little storylines taking place right now, and a lot of them have to do with the Leafs.

With this Toronto team trying to do big things in the playoffs, perhaps signing Toews could be the next step to giving this club the championship pedigree it so desperately needs.
