Toronto Maple Leafs Make Unexpected Decision Concerning Ryan Reaves

Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves has spent the last few weeks with the Toronto Marlies but it appears as though he is getting a second shot at NHL glory.
Ryan Reaves is a player who hasn't really been able to shine with the Maple Leafs and a lot of that has to do with his age.
He just doesn't have the same pep in his step these days and that is especially true as it pertains to fighting and doing the job of your typical enforcer.
In fact, at the trade deadline, the forward was put on waivers and he was subsequently sent down to the Toronto Marlies where he has gotten a bit of playing time.
Ryan Reaves back with the Toronto Maple Leafs
The regular season is officially over and that means the salary cap is no longer an issue for all of the teams out there. As a result, Reaves can get a second chance.
It was revealed this morning that the Maple Leafs will be calling up Ryan Reaves ahead of the playoffs. He will now get to practice with the guys again.
Whether or not he actually gets playing time in the first round remains to be seen. After all, there isn't a whole lot of fighting in the playoffs.
That said, guys like Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators are physical and Reaves could be used to send a message if the first few games get out of hand.
The first game goes down on Sunday and the fans are more than excited about watching all of these teams in action.
It is going to be so much fun and the Leafs have a real great shot at going far given how they ended their regular season.
As for Ryan Reaves, this could be his last bit of NHL hockey before retirement and we're sure he will be looking to cherish every single moment.
