Toronto Maple Leafs Trade Morgan Rielly for Alex DeBrincat in Blockbuster Trade Proposal

After losing Mitch Marner, the Toronto Maple Leafs need some extra firepower on their roster, and Alex DeBrincat certainly helps provide the goods.
Unfortunately, Marner is now a member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and will not be able to contribute to the Leafs on that level. Instead, the team must find other solutions.
Throughout the offseason, the team has struggled to find a true replacement for Marner, but there are trade proposals out there that could help the team, if general manager Brad Treliving is reading.
For instance, Heavy.com just came through with a wild trade proposal that would see the Leafs acquire Alex DeBrincat from the Detroit Red wings.
DeBrincat had 39 goals and 70 points last season. While this isn't Marner-level production, the Leafs could always use more goals.
Unfortunately, for the Leafs, this would cost them an arm and a leg. As the trade proposal states, the Leafs would have to give up Morgan Rielly,
Bobby McMann,
Easton Cowan, and a first-round pick.
Maple Leafs Acquire:
(F) Alex DeBrincat
2026 Third-Round Pick
Red Wings Acquire:
(F) Easton Cowan
(D) Morgan Rielly
(F) Bobby McMann
2028 First-Round Pick
Quite frankly, this is a ridiculous price, and one that the Maple Leafs shouldn't even take the least bit seriously. If the price were a bit smaller, then sure.
