Mitch Marner and the Toronto Maple Leafs are likely headed towards a divorce. Overall, this is a huge problem for Toronto, which will now need to replace 102 points worth of production.

However, for the superstar forward, this is an opportunity to make the most money of his career and prove that he really is one of the best in the world.

There are a ton of teams willing to give him what he wants, and some of those teams are even willing to grossly overpay him, no matter what.

According to Jeff Marek of 'The Sheet,' one team that could prove to be a contender for the services of Marner is none other than the Anaheim Ducks.

As Marek explained, the Ducks are a team that need to make a swing for the fences, and Marner would be the perfect player to bring in as their next face of the franchise.

There have been rumblings that some teams would be willing to pay the superstar winger a total of $15 million per season, which certainly seems excessive.

While he is a phenomenal regular-season player, he has not been good enough come playoff time, and that is a real issue going forward.

The Ducks, on the other hand, are a team that just wants to get to the playoffs and give their fans something worth cheering about.

Whether or not Marner chooses them still remains to be seen. The forward can go wherever he wants.
