Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev found himself in New York on Saturday, just weeks prior to the start of what could be the biggest NHL season of his career.
Last season was a good one for Chris Tanev as he proved to the hockey world that he is one of the best defensemen out there.
For the Maple Leafs, he was an absolute shot-blocking machine who could not be stopped, regardless of the situation presented to him.
Some believe he is the best defenseman on the Toronto Maple Leafs, and that he is even better than Morgan Rielly, who has been the top dog on that team for years.
This season, Tanev is a year older, and he will have to prove himself all over again. Luckily, he has the drive and the competitiveness to do something big.
Chris Tanev is back with the Toronto Blue Jays
Recently, we reported on how Tanev and his brother Brandon were spotted at a Toronto Blue Jays game, where they even got to meet some of the players.
Well, on Saturday, Chris Tanev found himself in New York for similar reasons, as the Blue Jays inch closer to the MLB Playoffs.
In fact, the defenseman had some sort of VIP pass that allowed him to take in batting practice with the media, friends, family, and the players themselves.
The Toronto Blue Jays have a real shot at winning the World Series this year, which will certainly help unite Toronto and make it the place to be this Fall.
Meanwhile, with the Leafs and Raptors about to start their seasons, there is no denying that things are about to get extremely fun.
Only time will tell whether or not Tanev and the Leafs can match their performance from last season.
