UFC legend Georges St. Pierre was a big fan of Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit's fighting pose, but not necessarily the execution of it all.
Simon Benoit got into a fight with
Michael Kesselring of the Utah Hockey Club on Monday night and it is a matchup that is currently going viral for a plethora of reasons.
Of course, the main reason for the virality is the superman punch that the defenseman attempted as he jumped in the air and brought his fist down.
Although Benoit missed his punch, he was the talk of social media as fans were truly impressed with everything he was trying to pull off.

He even caught the attention of UFC legend Georges St. Pierre, who took to Twitter to give his thoughts on the punch heard around the NHL world.
Unfortunately for Benoit, GSP was not the biggest fan considering the fact that he was unable to land the punch. Although the MMA fighter did appreciate the effort.

He missed the target because he telegraphed too much but the picture is awesome
This has been a bit of a difficult season for Simon Benoit as he only has five points in 60 games and while he does have a +3 net rating, some fans feel like he could be a lot better.
He is still a relatively young player so the team will just have to give him some time here. After all, he is an undrafted guy just living the dream.
It was an important win and the Leafs will try to keep it going against the Florida Panthers on Thursday.
