Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner took an elbow to the head from Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov, and now, we have a response.
Now, the Leafs and Panthers are gearing up for Game 5, which could prove to be the swing point of this entire series.
Mitch Marner has a message for Dmitry Kulikov
Going into this game, Marner would have every right to be upset and seek some sort of vengeance against Kulikov. However, it doesn't appear as though he will be doing that.
While speaking to the media, he simply said that this is hockey and he doesn't care about in-game incidents like that. He just wants to do his job.
"It's hockey. I don't know. Stuff happens fast. I don't really care or talk about it. I'm just trying to go out there & do my thing."
This is a very honorable way to go about things, especially when you consider what kind of game the Florida Panthers are getting away with.
With the Leafs on home ice, this is a great opportunity to take a 3-2 lead and push the defending champions to the bring of elimination.
It feels like this is going to be a massive game for everyone involved, and the fans cannot wait to see how the Leafs respond to the pressure.
However, a loss in this scenario would be absolutely devastating, and we cannot imagine the hot takes that will fly in regards to Mitch Marner if he has a bad game.
